Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Resilience Through Food & Art Incubator’
A business incubator project that hosts a series of workshops integrating food innovation and art therapy, designed to foster stress-free, resilient environments in schools.
Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Adapter’ personality type person with strong ‘entrepreneurship’ business potential.
- I’m using my passion for cooking and art therapy to start a cool project where I mentor others. I’m all about promoting good food choices and helping people deal with stress and fear. My goal? Make middle school a chill place where everyone’s aware of the world around them..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
FBLA – Future Business Leaders of America focuses on developing entrepreneurial skills, leadership, and business acumen, making it a perfect fit for this project.
SkillsUSA – SkillsUSA emphasizes technical and hands-on skill development, which supports the project’s practical execution and entrepreneurial aspects.
Competitions
This introductory competition helps build essential client interaction and communication skills which are foundational for managing the incubator’s stakeholder relationships and community partnerships.
TSA – Audio Podcasting
This introductory TSA competition encourages creative storytelling and technical audio production – key for promoting the incubator’s mission and for engaging a broad audience.
This advanced competition (assumed within SkillsUSA) is tailored to culinary skills and innovation, directly linking to the food aspect of the incubator concept, and encourages creative approaches to food service and management.
This advanced TSA competition leverages digital media to tell compelling visual stories, which can be used to promote the incubator project and demonstrate the artistic and innovative aspects of the initiative.
Community Service:
Resilience Through Food & Art Community Incubator
Why it fits: This community service activity closely aligns with the passion project by melding food and art to foster community engagement and build resilience among local residents in zip code 30038.
Implementation: Develop a series of community workshops and events over the academic year. Activities may include cooking classes, art mural projects, local food tastings, and collaborative art installations at community centers. The project will be planned in the Fall and executed in the Spring to allow adequate preparation.
Skills Development: Project management, community engagement, culinary skills, artistic expression, event planning
